Hard on the heels of her own Christmas card design competition, Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt is encouraging borough pupils to turn their design talents to a competition to mark the 150th anniversary of Big Ben, the iconic Clock tower and Great Clock at Westminster.
The theme for the national Christmas card design competition for schools is 'Parliament and Big Ben'. The closing date is 28th February and there are some great prizes for winning entries, which will be presented at a reception in the House of Commons.
Prizes include a climb to the top of Big Ben, meeting the Keeper of the Great Clock and the Clock Mechanics, and touring the House of Commons.
Winners will also receive a Big Ben anniversary gift pack, limited edition badge and certificate.
"I hope this will inspire many of the pupils who have entered my own Christmas card competition, including some past winners! Schools can contact me on 0121 706 9593 or send me an email to burtr@parliament.uk for details," said Lorely.
