Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt will be swapping life at Westminster for a stint behind the counter at Shirley Age Concern's shop on the Stratford Road on Friday to promote Age Concern Week, starting today and finishing with the Great Sunday Lunch fundraiser on 19th.
Lorely will be joining regular volunteers to serve customers and drum up more trade for the charity from 1pm.
"Age Concern does great work for older people in the borough, and I am looking forward to spending time with just some of the volunteers who give their time freely every week to keep these shops running," said Lorely
"Age Concern also want everyone to get cooking on Sunday 19th as part of their biggest ever Great Sunday Lunch event.
"All you have to do is invite people round, cook your own Great Sunday Lunch and ask them to show their appreciation by making a donation to Age Concern. And you don't have to do it on 19th October - anytime around then will do.
"You could invite your family, friends, neighbours or work colleagues, so get cooking!"
